What is digital marketing?

How Google Ads, Meta Ads, email, and funnels actually work, what each one costs you, and when each one makes sense. Decide what your business needs before anyone asks for your budget.

Digital marketing is every way your business reaches customers online. For a small business it splits cleanly in two: channels you earn over time and keep, like search rankings, and channels you rent on demand, like ads. Healthy businesses usually build both: rented channels for speed, earned channels for the long game.

The four channels, and what each is actually for

Each channel solves a different business problem. Matching the channel to your problem is most of the strategy.

Best when you need customers now

Google Ads

Your ad appears the moment someone searches for exactly what you sell, and you pay per click. Results start in days and every dollar is measurable. The trade: it costs money for as long as it runs, and a poorly managed campaign burns budget on the wrong clicks fast.

Best for reaching people before they search

Meta Ads

Facebook and Instagram ads put your work in front of the right local audience by location, age, and interests. Strong for visual work and offers. The trade: these people were interrupted, not searching, so the creative and the offer have to earn their attention.

Best for repeat business

Email Marketing

The customers you already have are the cheapest ones to win again, and email is the direct line to them that no algorithm controls. Reminders, offers, and useful updates turn one time buyers into regulars. The trade: it needs a list and consistency.

Best for stopping lead leaks

Funnels

The full path from first click to paying customer: the ad, the landing page, the action, the follow up. Most leads are lost in the gaps between those steps, and designing the path on purpose often doubles what the same budget produces.

The right order to spend your marketing money in

Ads amplify what you already have. If what you have is broken, ads amplify that too. This is the sequence that protects your money.

First

Fix where the leads land

If your website or landing page cannot convince a visitor, paying for more visitors just scales the waste. We will not launch ads onto a page that leaks, and we will tell you if yours does.

Second

Fix what happens after they reach out

A lead that waits two days for a reply is a lead your competitor closed. Follow up speed and process quietly decide how much of your ad spend turns into revenue.

Third

Start small and measure honestly

Campaigns start with a modest budget until the numbers prove what a lead costs and what it is worth. Your money is not our test lab.

Then

Scale what earns, kill what does not

Once a channel proves it pays for itself, scaling is just math. And if a channel is not working, we tell you and we stop it. You will always see what was spent and what came back.

Marketing terms, translated

What is a "lead"?

A person who raised their hand: called you, filled out a form, or messaged you. Leads are the honest measure of marketing. Views and likes are not.

What is "CPC" and "cost per lead"?

CPC is cost per click, what you pay each time someone clicks your ad. Cost per lead is what really matters: total spend divided by leads received. Knowing your cost per lead tells you instantly whether a campaign is worth running.

What is a "conversion"?

The moment a visitor does the thing you wanted: books, calls, buys. A "conversion rate" is what percentage of visitors do it. Improving that rate makes every other marketing dollar work harder.

What is "ROAS"?

Return on ad spend: revenue earned per dollar of ads. If you spend 500 and it brings 2,000 in work, that is a 4x ROAS. It is the number that ends every debate about whether ads "work."

What is "retargeting"?

Showing ads specifically to people who already visited your site or profile. They knew you, they hesitated, and a reminder often closes them. Usually the cheapest, highest return ads a small business can run.
